Dear Justice Advocates,
You will remember that on
Monday, February 4, many of us joined with our ecumenical and interfaith
partners for a call-in day to Congress: more than 10,000 people of
faith called their Senators expressing their faith-based moral concerns about
gun violence in the United States.
We are joining together
again, this time on April 9th. I
invite and urge each of you actively to participate in this effort, and to
promote it widely throughout your congregations, organizations and social media
networks. Active participation and encouragement from you will go a long
way toward promoting participation by others.
Interfaith Call-in to Prevent Gun Violence

message.
Through votes by a majority
of its delegates, General Assemblies have urged Disciples to support efforts to
combat gun violence while respecting responsible ownership of reasonable
weapons. They have also encouraged
Disciples to advocate for the banning of assault weapons.
So, please, on April 9th,
call your Senators and Representative and insist that they act to prevent gun
violence in the United States.
Urge Congress to enact
universal background checks, to ban semi-automatic assault weapons and
high-capacity magazines, to more effectively combat gun trafficking, and to
improve access to mental health services.
Thank you and God bless you!
